Tonopah

Day two took us about 330 miles across Nevada on a very empty road which passed through only one town in all that distance. Outside the town of Tonopah, we only saw about half a dozen cars all day. Tonoaph is known mainly for two things, mining and F117 stealth fighters. This is where the stealth fighters were based back in the days they were secret and none of us knew they existed. We spent some time walking around the disused mine workings on the edge of town.

A tin mine?

The miners took away copper and left behind steel.

Not in Kansas any more.
